About Karen
I know what it is to have fear of water and I am able to relate to students. I was so petrified of it one 8 week session of lessons at the age of 5 I sat on the side of the pool the whole time because I refused to go in. I did not start to learn to swim until almost the age of 7! No one in my family would have every known then that I would become a certified lifeguard, certified Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor, Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructor!
With my years of teaching experience,you will be receiving QUALITY swim instruction with both positive and corrective feedback. My lessons are productive meeting swim goals because I can cater and adjust my instructional approach to the swimmer's individual understanding. I also like to have fun teaching swimming, especially with the little kiddos, who may need some games or imagination to take to instruction.

Hi! I have taught for numerous swim lesson providers over the past 35 years in both NJ and Florida! I LOVE teaching swimming because I enjoy working with all ages, abilities, personalities! I am patient, and provide both positive and corrective feedback. I have a Master's Degree in Special Education with Applied Behavior Analysis emphasis from Arizona State University. Whether you are a toddler or an adult, I emphasize that everyone can float (some better than others!). I believe that once the swimmer knows this and can feel it, then the swimming will take off, most of the time expediting the learning process!
