About Andy

I have always loved being in the water. I taught myself how to swim as a kid and when I was a teen I became a swim instructor and learned the formal strokes.

I am consistently learning new things when it comes to swim and new teaching methods. Swimming is an area that most definitely varies from person to person when it comes down to lessons and as an instructor you learn to predict what may work best for an individual or figure it out through trial and error.

I truly am passionate about teaching and swim and love to have the opportunity to do both. I have taught children as young as 4 months old and as old as 70+ years in age.

About the lesson

Hello! Thank you for your interest!

I have been a swim instructor for a year and counting! My biggest pet peeve has been the lack of flexibility in the curriculum for students.

I am a firm believer that no curriculum is "one size fits all" and that is especially true when it comes to swimming.

I will provide one on one lessons with the student that will range from 30 minutes to an hour.

These lessons are available once to twice a week and scheduling can be discussed further if proceeding forward with booking.

I will teach the following:
Water Safety Skills
Lecture on Boat Safety: What to do if Capsized
Freestyle
Backstroke
Breastroke
Elementary Backstroke
Butterfly
Water Bonding
Buoyancy
And Diving.

I encourage you to explore what you'd like to learn and prior to first lesson will aid you in figuring out what you'd like to learn and how you learn best.

I will come to you for one-on-one lessons, if lesson is booked for kiddos, parents you are more than welcome to supervise, though do note that some kiddos with anxious attachments learn best when parents are out of line of sight!
