About Marina
Hearing a melody transition from the page to the fingers remains the most rewarding part of my day. I teach because music requires a delicate balance of logic and physical grace.
My 19.0 years of experience inform how I introduce sight transposition, sight playing, and hand independence. Having guided 226.0 students, I emphasize rhythm and timing along with pop and contemporary styles. I intend to keep our sessions grounded in a calm and thoughtful pace.

Musical fluency arrives only when you stop thinking about where your fingers land. It is counterintuitive, but the best progress happens when you finally let go of the rigid sheet music. Since I hold a MMus from the Yale School of Music, I bring a high level of academic structure to our informal time together.
My 19.0 years of experience playing with the New York Philharmonic mean I know how to navigate complex scores. You will find the environment is quite steady and predictable.
