About Robin
I teach material learned from Mark Rasmus’s Elastic Force course usually considered closed door information as well as a decade of training, traveling to workshops from top level teachers and private lessons in Taijiquan, Baguazhang and Xingyiquan. I am also officially certified through the American Tai Chi & Qigong Association (ATCQA) as a Certified Tai Chi Instructor (Level II) and USA Boxing coaching certified.
Beginning Jan. 30 2023 my full time job is working for the US Department of Veterans Affairs as a full time Tai Chi Instructor in Prescott Arizona. I recently transferred as of June 2023 and am now located an hour north of Boston working at the Manchester NH VA again as a fulltime Tai Chi Instructor within the VA Whole Health and Pain/Rehabilitation divisions. I work with a large number of patients with a wide variety of medical conditions including PTSD, TBI, MST, Musculoskeletal disorders and offer Tai Chi and movement courses for VA Diabetes/weight managment, Tai Chi for Fall Prevention and general classes for stress relief and pain/movement rehabilitation.
Within the last 5 years I've completed a 3 month fulltime training trip studying with senior Disciple Curtis Brough who is taught by Sifu Adam Mizner of Heaven Man Earth Yang style Taijiquan. I found HME taiji through their online training course. I then was curious enough to visit Jim Russo HME affiliate teacher for class and private instruction in upstate NY. I then attended HME 3 day seminars in NY and Italy to see if the level of the instructors was “good enough”. It definitely is set to a high standard.. Another highlight was being able to travel to the UK for small group private training with HME senior instructor Andy Mack in London. Most recently I finished the HME 7 day camp in Milwaukee.
Before then my experience was 4 years of classes, once yearly 3 day seminars with Luo Dexiu and instruction with Luo’s student Marcus Opalenik of Gao style Yizong Baguazhang. I did a training trip in 2015 to Taiwan for private lessons with senior Yizong instructors and disciple of Luo Dexiu Marcus Brinkman. In between solo and school training also trained non-compliant sparring.
Before that I trained in Bruce Frantzis’s system at Brookline Tai Chi under Dan Kleiman and Nate Hribar and made it to Ibiza in 2016 for Bruce Frantzis’s Bagua/Standing intensive. My very first internal arts martial arts classes were Wudang Daoist Gate Xingyiquan in Boston with Sifu Xuan Yun.
After 8 months of training in the Gracie University system I switched to training under one of John Danaher's students near Boston Massachusetts.

I teach the Huang Sheng Shyan 37 Yang Style Taijiquan + 8 gates (Ba Men) short form form as well as the 5 loosening exercises, Standing Neigong set as well as many push hands patterns and more importantly fundamental skills and qualities for Internal Push Hands including how to sink the qi and how to mobilize the qi.
For beginner-intermediate students with no interest in the martial aspects I teach Dragon and Tiger Qigong a short 7 movement set and Marriage of Heaven and Earth Qigong
