About Corena

Hello! I'm Corena, a passionate and patient Business English tutor with international teaching experience.
I earned my TEFL certificate while living and teaching English in South Korea, where I worked with enthusiastic students who thrived despite the challenges of a new language. I absolutely loved helping them build confidence in speaking, listening, grammar, and pronunciation — and I bring that same energy to every lesson today.
My teaching journey began in 2003 as a Sunday school teacher, followed by a rewarding summer as a camp counselor in the USA in 2004. These experiences taught me the value of patience, clear communication, and creating a supportive, fun learning environment.
I specialize in Business English for professionals: improving workplace efficiency, clear professional communication, meetings, presentations, negotiations, emails, and pronunciation for greater confidence and proficiency at work.
Lessons are tailored to your goals, level, and industry — relaxed yet focused, with plenty of conversation practice and real-world scenarios. Whether you're preparing for international business, advancing your career, or simply wanting to speak more fluently, I'm here to help you succeed.
On a personal note, I've traveled extensively across Asia (including Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines) and lived in South Korea, so I understand cultural nuances in communication. In my free time, I enjoy cooking (especially dumplings and noodles!), playing the clarinet — and I'd love to hear about your hobbies or instruments too!
