About Janelle
I am a PhD student (expected graduation: July 2021) and tutor in the following areas:
*Pre-K - 5th grade in English language arts, math, and science
*6th - 8th grade in English language arts
*High school and college students in writing/paper editing/reading comprehension.
I absolutely love teaching and tutoring! I have taught in the school setting where I won teacher of the month twice and I have now transitioned to private tutoring.
I am in my last semester of a PhD program where I have won best paper awards and published 4 articles in refereed journals.
I charge $30-$50/hour depending on whether the tutoring is done at your home, my home, or virtually as well as the grade level of the student. Just ask!

The first lesson consists of a pre-assessment where I determine the student's current level. Every lesson has informal and formal assessments to tailor each lesson to fit individual student needs. I also integrate the student's interests into lessons to make them more meaningful. I have taught in the school setting and now tutor because I love the one-on-one environment where I can spend meaningful time with each student.
