About Sofia
I am a native Portuguese speaker from Brazil who has lived in the USA for over a decade. Learning English allowed me to earn a Bachelor degree in Finance from the University of North Texas, and gave me the opportunity to work for American companies holding positions in my field of study.
After learning more about myself and realizing I have a passion for helping others, I decided to switch careers and become an English instructor to start helping people achieve their goals. I want my lessons to be a relaxed safe space for my students to speak, make mistakes, and learn at their pace and in their style.

I am a patient instructor who loves to help others! My method of teaching is based on guided conversation. I like to encourage students to speak as most as possible so they can find different ways of expressing themselves and retain new vocabulary.
I always prepare my content based on the student's needs, likes and goals.
