Methodology

I have had the chance of teaching all levels, from beginners to advanced students, and different nationalities, which imply different accents and different grammatical structures from origin. Being a language student myself I have come to understand the struggle of learning a new language, and I have developed a linguistic empathy with my students, and elaborate a singular and individual method for each one according to their level and their linguistic background.
As a DELE certified teacher, I use the communicative method, which focuses on developing the oral skills of the student right from the first class, which means that you will speak Spanish right from the start. I also combine texts focused on learning grammatical skills, with music, cinema and Spanish literature to learn and consolidate vocabulary and listening skills, the most natural way, and at the same time -¿por qué no?- having fun!

Background

In 2012 I finished my MA as Teacher of Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE) at International House Barcelona together with the UB (University of Barcelona). After a wide experience as a translator (English-Spanish) and a historian since 1998 (when I garduated at the University of Barcelona) , digging out in the archives of the city of Barcelona, I decided to start teaching a language that I love.
I started teaching Spanish as part of the programm of immigrants integration in different institutions in Barcelona, where I had the chance of teaching Spanish to people of different origins such as Pakistan, India, Morocco, Bangladesh, etc. Besides that, I worked at Kingsbrook School in Barcelona teaching a great variety of students who came to Barcelona to learn Spanish: Young students from France, univeristy students from China and Korea, and business people from all over the world. Once in Berlin I have had the chance of combinig teaching and translating, and I have worked in several language schools such as Die Neue Schule, ... and private lessons of all levels teaching mostly Germans who learn Spanish for fun, to go on holidays to Spain, or to remember the Spanish they studied for their Abitur.
