About Louis
I am a young, passionate guitar teacher and performer based in Greenwich, London. I have studied with Craig Ogden (Concerto Soloist and Classic FM recording artist), Martin Simpson (23 time BBC Folk Award Nominee) and Stuart McCallum (The Cinematic Orchestra, The Breath), graduating from the RNCM with a high 1st, final recital mark of 94.
As a performer, I play with fiddle virtuoso Sam Sweeney with dates in November 2022 including The Royal Albert Hall, Bridgewater Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall and more. I also have a duo with Owen Spafford, our debut album comes out in November and has already received airplay on BBC Radio 2 and RTE1. Other acts I work with include Quiet Houses and Sean Rogan.
I have a real love for teaching, and always try to understand each pupils learning style and musical interests as much as possible, always wanting the absolute best for my students.

I use my varied musical background to provide a balanced musical education for my students, closely following their interests. I ensure that aural and technical skills are developed equally and not hindered by a students choice of style/genre, through a strong grounding in classical technique as well as jazz, folk and pop listening and improvising skills for all students.
I have 8 years private teaching experience and am happy to teach beginners to advanced (beyond Grade 8 standard).
I typically teach hour long lessons to over 12s and 30-45 minute lessons to younger students depending on their concentration and learning styles - though am happy to accommodate different lengths upon discussion.
