About Kendra
Singing is often thought of as a purely natural talent, but it requires more mechanics than most realize. Working with absolute beginners and self-taught players provides me with a fresh perspective on vocal health.
My BA Folk Music from Berea College in Kentucky remains central to my philosophy. Being a shape-note singer means I value the communal history of voice.
I utilize warm up exercises to ensure longevity in the voice. Microphone technique is another area where I provide guidance to my students. Helping people find their resonance is a rewarding experience. It is fun to hear a voice develop over time.

You receive structured feedback that moves at a pace suited for your progress. Rhythm and phrasing are essential components we tackle in every session. Homework vocal drills are assigned after every session to ensure consistency. Tone and resonance require daily attention.
Practice. My 7 years of experience as a performer and teacher guide our work on belting technique. It is satisfying to see students gain control over their instrument.
