About Sydney

I have taught math for 6 years as a 5-9 math educator. I have participated and helped lead math contest camps in the summer for 10 years, and I have worked and celebrated more than 3,000 students through my student teaching, summer work, substitute work, and teaching careers. I hope that you can be student 3,001!

I specialize in Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Arithmetic, and Geometry, though I am proficient in all math up to Calculus. :)

About the lesson

As a prior math educator, I believe in truly getting to know my student's strengths and struggles in order to help them learn to their highest potential. I specialize in middle school students 5-9, especially with the subjects of algebra, pre-algebra, geometry, and arithmetic.

I love to make short and long term goals after assessing the student's needs in order to best help them in their learning journey. We will start with some warmups, the workout lesson, and a cool down for every session to best utilize our time together. :)

Sessions are remote and last 1 hour Sunday through Thursday, though Friday and Saturday can be negotiated.

My sessions are ALWAYS safe spaces where students are welcome to make mistakes, be encouraged, and of course have fun!

Ryan is so amazing! She is incredibly well versed in her math facts, as well as quick to problem solve. She is incredibly perserverant when it comes to difficult math problems. Her confidence is already growing even after 2 math sessions with her, and I can't wait to see her inner mathematician shine! :)
