About Taylor
Choosing a tutor requires trust. I am a working juvenile probation officer, a certified JPO and JSO, and a graduate with a master’s degree in criminal justice, focusing on public administration. My Bachelor's was in criminal justice, with a concentration in legal studies and advocacy with a minor in psychology. My daily work requires accuracy, patience, professionalism, and the ability to explain complicated information clearly.
I come prepared, respect your time, and tailor each session to your goals. You can expect honest feedback, dependable communication, and a comfortable learning environment where questions are always welcome. I will challenge you, support you, and never make you feel small for needing help. You are not expected to know everything before the lesson... that would defeat the whole purpose of hiring me! :)

My approach is simple: I teach for understanding, not just memorization. I break complicated concepts into plain language, connect them to real situations, and encourage questions without making anyone feel embarrassed for asking.
Each lesson begins with what you already understand and where you feel stuck. From there, we’ll review the concept, walk through practical examples, apply what you’ve learned, and end with a clear recap. Lessons may include discussion, case scenarios, guided practice, essay support, or study strategies based on your needs.
What sets me apart is my real-world experience as a juvenile probation officer combined with my graduate-level criminal justice education. I understand these subjects beyond the textbook and can explain how criminal justice systems and policies operate in practice.
My lessons are ideal for high school, undergraduate, and adult learners studying criminal justice, juvenile justice, criminology, corrections, courts, social studies, or academic writing. Whether you need help understanding the material, strengthening an assignment, or preparing for an exam, we’ll figure it out together; with patience, honesty, and probably a little humor.
