Matthew gave him some vocal coaching and taught him techniques which hugely improved his singing, enabling him to reach much higher notes than he thought he was capable of. Perfect! Matthew is a warm, friendly tutor who makes you feel relaxed from the moment you arrive. I sing a little already, but still learned a huge amount in the very first session. The exercises we ran through were fun, helpful and somewhat surprising too (singing whilst leaning my forehead against a wall, pushing on my teeth whilst singing etc). Matthew is easy company and very encouraging, so rather than feeling intimidated and awkward I felt excited and engaged. I would recommend him wholeheartedly.

Perfect! Matt immediately made me comfortable, was very encouraging and homed in on one or two things to focus on for my first session (breathing and support). He explained the impact of these things clearly, demonstrating with examples.

We warmed up and then went through a few songs of my choice together.

Perfect! I've done amateur muscal theatre for years but wanted to take my singing and performance to the next level, and Matt has been a great mentor. Firstly for audition coaching - I got my first big lead role. We have focussed on aspects of vocal technique, even learning a lot during warmups. Characterisation and emotion through song is another focus area - I've already made someone cry (in a good way). Matt is someone who's been there and done it, and offers lots of practical advice. He's also been really flexible with scheduling, finding times that suit us both.

Perfect! The lesson I had with Matthew really opened my eyes to the importance of sound technique. I realised I was not set up to sing properly and safely, With the exercises I have been given I have noticed a massive difference to my vocal performance! Matthew is attentive and communicated clearly what I needed to do in order to improve. Money well spent! :)
