Mathematics is a subject that needs to be explained in detail and validated through examples and models. It's important to know what students goals are. To be successful at test taking, a student needs to be exposed to as many problems as possible. If a student is an Engineering or technical major, a student needs practice in physical application; students in the social sciences are mostly concerned about statistical applications. Must also know what students weaknesses are; is it basic math skills, is it word problems.
