About Jona

Hi, I'm Jona, I graduated from Metropolitan University with a BA in animation and then from MOME n with a MA in media design. I studied in China and Portugal, so my knowledge is diverse and I'm constantly learning :) I've been teaching both children and adults for almost 6 years. I like a lot of different styles, my favourites are avant-garde and anime. In my work I mainly use experimental animation, combining digital modern and traditional elements.

About the lesson

During my classes, I encourage students to have a critical perspective, based on the given topic (e.g. film excerpt analysis), and then we move on to practical implementation. I try to take into account the individual needs and perspectives of the students so that they can develop in the area of the profession that interests them, but I also try to show a perspective on where they can develop and search further. For this reason, we delve into everything from popular plays and anime to avant-garde "art films".
