About JoAnne

Because I was in a famous rock band as a singer, and on TV and in movies as a professional actor, and I have been a pro singer and an art teacher for years, I know what is needed to be a professional in all of these fields--and I would love to help to teach anyone interested in any of these areas how it can be done on a professional level!

All of these areas are areas I absolutely love to do, so if you would be interested in learning any one or more of these areas of artistic expression, I'm here for you!

About the lesson

I'm very patient and can communicate anything I know well to anyone. I am a professional actor and performer/singer, so I know how to entertain my students as they learn each step. I make the sessions fun as well as productive!

For example, when doing a reading class with one student or a few students, I tell the one student (K-adult) or each student (K-adult) that they WILL BE one of the characters in the story (appropriate to the level of the individual student or the group), while I become another character, and we have so much fun putting on a play! In this way, they learn the story, each word, and the meaning of each word they are reading as they are playing. This example can, obviously, be put in place for any age person or group, any academic level, and for any subject matter. I believe learning should and can always be made to be exciting and fun, while quite productive.
