I have found the trick, for me at least, in learning another language is to keep it interesting. The fastest way to learn any language is to not focus too much on the grammar in the beginning. The first thing you should do when learning a language is increase your vocabulary as much as you can, after that you can worry about grammar, sentence structure, and more. With a higher vocabulary you can communicate more ideas with people and with talking and listening you will begin to hear and put together those words in a proper form.
I have a BA degree in History, and Scandinavian studies. I know the difficulties of learning another language as I have learned several with my Scandinavian studies degree. I now work in automation full time because it pays well, but I will be moving to Czech Republic to teach English full time within a years time.
