About Avik

I am a Master Degree holder in Business Management with more than a decade of experience in several reputed organizations. I primarily conduct language enhancement and personality development programs for young people across India. I am an English Teacher with Bibo International and I keep conducting classes via remote sessions in and around South East Asia.
I've worked with organizations like HSBC, Cognizant and TCS successfully and conducted programs on Business Writing, Telephone Etiquette, Assertive Communication, Critical Thinking, Decision Making & Problem Solving, Presentation Skills, Time Management and Client Interfacing. I've coached hundreds of young Engineering graduates helping them learn how to handle interviews efficiently. I am currently engaged as a senior communication coach with iMerit Technology Services. My job entails teaching English to young, underprivileged people and help them read and speak confidently.

About the lesson

In my class, I typically run a Training Need Analysis (TNA) to understand the exact skill gap of an individual through a simple assessment. Having identified the gap I place the learners into one of the four categories i.e. BASIC, PRE-INTERMEDIATE, INTERMEDIATE and ADVANCED. The learner is then taken through the course that best fits his/her interest.
Learners are also offered crash courses based on their specific requirements that defy the traditional four category approach.
I believe in interactive learning and keep challenging the verbal /writing abilities of the learners by interacting heavily with them. A learner should not, however, expect to be as fluent as a native speaker of English, but can definitely expect to emerge as a much more confident person when it comes to using the language correctly, while speaking, reading, writing and listening.

Details

Softskill, counseling, life coaching and mentoring for problem-solving and decision making are premium classes, tailor-made according to the need of the student. The fee is variable on a case-to-case basis. English language classes are also offered at my place where a student can physically come to attend the class. Beginners are taken through 50 hours of teaching over a span of six months post which they are assessed for the next level. Rs.4000 has to be paid while admission and the rest Rs.7000 has to be paid in due course. People who wish to go for courses of lesser duration are interviewed and suggested tailor-made, need-specific, programs.
