About Tom
As a current undergraduate with a strong academic background in Maths, Physics, and Economics, I know exactly what it takes to succeed at GCSE and A-Level — because I've been there myself. Having achieved one of the highest GCSE Maths results in my school, I understand firsthand what works, what doesn't, and how to make even the most difficult topics click.
I take tutoring seriously. Every session is planned around you — your syllabus, your weak spots, your exam board. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all teaching. Instead, I combine clear whiteboard explanations with targeted past paper practice, so students don't just understand the material — they know exactly how to apply it under exam conditions.
My students can expect punctuality, preparation, and patience in every lesson. I set high standards for myself so that my students can meet theirs.
Whether you're struggling to keep up, aiming for a top grade, or somewhere in between — I'll meet you where you are and get you where you want to be.

I am a current BSc Economics undergraduate at the University of Manchester, specialising in Maths, Physics, and Economics GCSE, and A-Level Maths. My lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs — whether that's building confidence in a tricky topic or pushing for top grades.
My approach centres around active problem-solving. Using an interactive whiteboard, I guide students through past paper questions to develop exam technique and build familiarity with the types of problems they'll face on the day. Rather than working through a rigid syllabus, I identify the areas each student finds most challenging and focus our time there, ensuring every lesson is as productive as possible.
Sessions typically run for one hour, striking the right balance between depth of coverage and maintaining focus. I believe consistent, targeted practice is the most effective route to improvement, and I work to make sure students leave each lesson with greater clarity and confidence than when they arrived.
Whether you're looking to shore up weak spots before mocks, prepare for final exams, or simply keep on top of the curriculum throughout the year, I'm here to help.
