Liu taught me physics A Level from scratch (7 years after my GCSE) for a graduate entry medicine exam. In response to my non-scientific background and time constraints he made sure I was confident with the basics and then prioritised the essential material in a structured and concise way. I was impressed by the range of clear examples he draws from memory, finding ways to explain things from a different angles both verbally and with diagrams and making physics come alive outside of the textbook. He was very patient and willing to go over topics as many times and in as many ways as it took for me to understand. Since the requirements of my specific exam went beyond A Level-style questions, Liu adapted the lessons and we painstakingly went over all the past papers I could find in the run up to the exam and he answered any questions I had between lessons via text message. From being daunted by the prospect of learning physics, I was surprised to find it fascinating and Liu's enthusiasm for his subject was a major factor in my enjoyment. Liu was always professional, flexible and encouraging and I'm extremely grateful for his help.
