About Rael
I am a New York native, love skateboarding, and scored 800/800 on the SAT math section in high school. My first job was teaching calculus at the NYU STEP program as a sophomore at NYU, so I have been tutoring calculus for the entirety of my adult life. I joined the TEACH program in NYC and obtained my master's degree in math education. I've been teaching professionally since 2015 in NY, CA, and even lived and taught in Korea for a few years, where I learned even more math teaching strategies, as well as a bit of Korean. 저는 한국말을 잘 하실 수 있습니다. I give a satisfaction guarantee, meaning if you don't make progress, I don't charge. Also, I give 30 minutes free to new clients as a professional courtesy. I am an active AP teacher so I have access to AP classroom and other teachers-only tools and learning materials. A typical lesson starts with us addressing your most imminent learning goals. As we work using either the student's current schoolwork or independent study material, I find and remedy any and all knowledge gaps from prerequisite topics that are the root cause of any difficulties in understanding. As a calculus specialist, I make a point to show both analytic and graphical representations of solutions and generalities. I never leave a topic until I'm certain the student understands, and I assign additional standards aligned practice where necessary. Most of my current students are taking AP Calculus AB, followed by Algebra 2/Trigonometry/Precalculus, then Calc 2 (BC) and Calc 3 (multivariable).
