About Paul
I am a qualified teacher specialising in music, with ten years experience planning and delivering lessons across the curriculum as well as school shows, assemblies, trips, workshops, sports days, multi-school film events and creative summer-schools. My style of teaching is exciting, energetic, effective and transparent. I’m always looking to bring that extra touch of magic into teaching, through fun and memorable creative projects and experiences.
I have experience teaching people of all ages and backgrounds. I run CPD music workshops for teachers under @primarymusicjam, sharing my own techniques, activities and ideas on teaching music in primary schools. I have been working with 6th form colleges across Newham to help develop summer school projects and I currently tutor regular life-drawing classes.
I’m a musician, I play guitar and ukulele and perform live with two bands around the UK. I’m an artist, I have a degree in Fine Art, I have created and sold my own work, designed logos and graphics for organisations, as well as curating group art-exhibitions around London, Liverpool and Bristol.
I have 15 years experience of public speaking and hosting events, ranging from presenting at golf events, music, art and comedy nights as well as being asked to speak at various educational conferences and ‘Teach Meets’ in schools across London, and at the Barbican Centre and the BFI.
I have established and currently manage two arts organisations delivering film, education, art and live music events as well as managing and promoting musicians and artists. I was born in Wales and can read, write and speak Welsh fluently. I’m a keen sportsman and enjoy playing or teaching golf, badminton and basketball.
