I have strong interpersonal skills, am relatable as a tutor and have a good track record in building confidence in students, including those with learning difficulties, with the ability to tailoring my lessons to suit varying needs. I believe it is important to instil a growth mind-set in pupils and having undertaken extensive training via the Teach First scheme I have a variety of methodologies on how to inspire and build resilience in pupils so they are equipped to discover learning for themselves. For this reason I like to extend my tutees knowledge of the subject beyond the syllabus if time permits.
I am am a patient but firm tutor and will set high expectations for my pupils. I value the importance of data and like to monitor my students through mini checkpoints which I set throughout the programme of tuition, which I can use to keep parents updated on their child’s progress.
