About Becky
I was a teaching assistant for 12 years in the public school system before returning to college to pursue my teaching degree. I did my teaching internship with a Kindergarten class and my student teaching with a 4th grade math and science class. I have been a private tutor on and off for at least 2 years total. I have also been a daycare teacher for at least 7 years in a Pre-Kindergarten or school age classroom. Under my tutelage, an elementary student was able to move out of "learning assisted" classes and into "regular" classes. A special needs college freshman was able to qualify for and maintain her name on the Dean's List. My other clients experienced improvements in their grades and confidence and continued to enjoy academic success throughout their school careers.

Hi. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, K-8 education. I have many years of experience working with children in many different settings, including at least 2 years as a private tutor. I use the TEKS or the individual student's school curriculum (in the case of Christian schools) as my guide in structuring my lessons and I believe in incorporating as many hands-on experiences as possible in my lessons. I also believe in tailoring my lessons to the student's individual learning style and teaching with many different techniques to give the student the opportunity for exposure to the content in as many avenues as is possible. I have excellent references.
