About Amanda
I have often described myself as a marathon running, kickboxing, sneaker loving, foodie and boy mom (2 humans and 2 dogs). We are sports fanatics and love to be outdoors.
I have taught, tutored, coached and counselled middle schoolers my entire career and I absolutely love it! I am open to helping younger and older students as well. I believed students and teachers should have trusting relationships, where students can self-advocate and are comfortable making mistakes. After all, mistakes are where we learn and grow the most. I look forward to building relationship and supporting your students' academics and socio-emotional needs.

I am licensed in the state of Ohio in math and science grades 4-9 and recently earned a master's degree in guidance counseling. I have been in the classroom for more than 15 years.
First and foremost, relationships are the most vital attribute as an educator. When a student knows a teacher enjoys their time with them, it really makes a difference in the students' effort. I use humor and allow students to lead conversations and learning.
As a teacher, I like to incorporate relevant, real-world examples to allow students to make more meaningful connections to the content.
