About the lesson

My teaching approach is highly interactive. Students tend to enjoy my classes and suddenly realize they like to read and write! I integrate technology as needed in my classes. I believe in building on success from students and adhere to generally accepted best practices in teaching and learning. As a mentor to other teachers I also set up participatory workshops.

I am an experienced teacher from Alabama and I spent over 20 years teaching at highly competitive International schools And at schools in the US. I have a BS In English, and a Masters in EdAdmin. I qualify as a reading specialist, ESL teacher and mentor teacher in California and have led numerous workshops for teachers, students, parents and administrators. I am expert at leading group sessions and at developing writers. I have also successfully guided students in the college admissions process for competitive universities. I have retired to Jasper and would enjoy teaching groups or individuals.
