About Rachel
My work ethic is based on Colossians 3:23-24: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as if you were working for God and not for people." This reminds me not only to work hard but to treat all people equally with patience and compassion.
My treatment of people is built on Matthew 7:12: "in everything, do unto others as you would have them do to you." This reminds me that everyone needs kindness and respect.
Because of these values and because of my passion for teaching, I commit to help every student progress.

Teaching is my passion and my profession. Since my first paid tutoring position in college I have worked as a substitute teacher for all grade levels and an ELL teacher in South Korea and Haiti. I love to interact with students, build relationships of mutual respect and trust. Over the years I’ve had much practice at adaption and improvisation, quickly determining academic and emotional student needs. My lesson plans are then based on these individual needs and I supplement with visual aids, books, creative projects, and games.
