About Paul
I have been living and teaching English in Barcelona for the last 20 years. On arriving here I found it very difficult to learn Spanish as I didn’t know any English grammar at all but when I started to think about English grammar it all started to fall into place.
In my time in Spain I have met many English speakers that just find it too difficult to learn Spanish and eventually just give up. Nobody wants to feel stupid speaking a foreign language and
Spanish seems to overcomplicate things that are so easy to say in English.
After teaching English for 20 years, I see all the problems that the Spanish have learning English and that helps me understand the problems we have learning Spanish. Together we can overcome these problems speaking Spanish at every opportunity

Many native English speakers try and fail at learning other languages. Let’s be honest, we don’t learn much grammar at school. We don’t need to. And this is the problem.
My objective as a non-native but with 20 years of teaching Spanish students English is to get you over the first hurdles of learning the language so that you feel confident enough to go on and improve with a native teacher. I understand every error that we make as I have made them myself.
Through highlighting the differences between Spanish and English, e.g., every object in Spanish is either masculine or feminine, we can overcome the difficulties you have.
