About Alicia
I have been a public school teacher for the past 27 years and a private contract curriculum writer for the past 8 years. I have taken a one year leave of absence from public education with the hope of finding a new career writing curriculum and/or educating and supporting students and teachers.

I believe in standards-based, interactive, hands-on investigative learning that relates to real world experiences and the interests of my students. I believe that there is always more than one way to solve a problem, and that mathematics provides an endless discovery of patterns, relationships, and lifelong thinking skills. I value learning the importance of each math skill and concept. I like to relate each topic to what the student has learned so far, and to how the work will translate into something more complex in the years ahead.
