About Leigh
I have taught 3 years. My first year, I taught second grade. The last two years, I taught fifth grade. I have proven learning with over 200% improvement in reading and 184% in math, the highest grade-level growth. When I taught reading and reading intervention, my students met the 75th percentile by Christmas. The goal was 50% by spring. I did this by meeting with small groups 15 minutes every day working on the skill in which they needed help.

I try to teach using all forms of learning- visual, auditory and kinesthetic. I try to incorporate as much whole-brain teaching as possible using songs, movement, art, drama, etc. I don't like sitting for extended periods of time, I like to move. I group students instead of rows. I incorporate as much technology as I can, using games to reinforce lessons.
