About Joseph

Performing in Austin clubs keeps my skills sharp while I teach 400 plus students. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Popular Music from USC and translate that into 12 years of teaching practical guitar. Working professionals often come to me to balance their busy lives with music.

Teens find my style chill and encouraging when they want to play songs. Just show up as you are. Helping you get ready for an open mic or a casual jam is my primary focus.

About the lesson

Ever wonder how to get from strumming a few chords to playing a full set at a party? I integrate a custom practice module with every single lesson to keep your momentum high between our meetings.

We cover everything from reading tabs and power chords to fingerpicking and acoustic technique. My background in popular music ensures we balance theory with the songs you actually want to play.

Tuning and maintenance are also part of the plan so your gear is gig ready. You will learn improvisation and soloing alongside essential rhythm guitar skills. This is the path to feeling confident on stage. I hope to see you in the studio soon.
