About Andranik
I am an architectural designer with over 19 years of academic and professional experience in residential and commercial design. My lessons help students develop creative thinking, problem-solving skills, and a strong foundation in architectural design. Students learn through hands-on exercises, sketching, design challenges, and real-world project examples. I also introduce building codes, site planning, and the permitting process to provide insight into how architecture is practiced professionally. Lessons are tailored to each student’s experience level, from beginners exploring architecture as a career to college students seeking practical industry knowledge.

Sharing academic and industry architectural experience with middle school, high school, and beginning college students interested in architecture. Lessons focus on design thinking, critical thinking, building codes, and real world project and permitting processes.
Teaching Methods & Techniques:
Students will be taught various methods of critical thinking that will transition into architectural thinking. We will begin by exercises of memory and cognition such as problem solving, reasoning, language processing & experiences. This will enhance their creativity and imagination that will develop architectural thinking & spatial awareness. Methods will involve working with forms, objects, writing and drawing exercises.
Typical Lesson Plan:
A typical lesson begins with a discussion of a design concept or architectural principle, followed by interactive exercises and sketching activities. Students then apply what they learn to a practical project while receiving guidance and feedback. Lessons may also include introductions to building codes, site planning, and the permitting process.

With both academic and industry experience in architecture, I provide students with insight into how real projects are designed, reviewed, and approved. My lessons bridge the gap between classroom learning and professional practice, helping students understand how architecture works in the real world.

Details
I offer a 1 hour Free online session to get to know you and your future goals including why you think you want to pursue Architecture as a career. I will introduce myself, my history and how I ended up at my status today. I will better understand how to tailor to your goals accordingly. After the 1 hour free virtual session, classes will be in person for in depth education.
Hourly rates are provided on my profile. During the 1 hour free online session, I will determine what route we can take and how to proceed with the first class you will be booking. The hourly rate covers commuting to the classroom or location of the session. Teaching material will also be determined per student. Please see my profile for our teaching methods and philosophy.
