About Ned
I am a Global Politics student with 4 years' experience studying the field.
I have taught and helped students as a mentor, assisting them with personal and academic problems. I taught politics classes at a high school as part of a voluntary scheme, teaching around 30 pupils at a time. The students said they really enjoyed the sessions, had a better understanding of politics and were helped to think about the broader issues in our society today.
As well as my academic experience in which I have achieved top grades I worked over the summer with Professor Groom at Kent University. I edited chapters for his book summarising a history of International Relations and politics. Thanks to this I have practical knowledge about politics and international relations in a work environment as well as my historical and academic knowledge.

I have taught to GCSE age pupils but am confident to teach my subject up to a final year undergraduate academic level. I am experienced teaching up to a class of up to 20 students or on a one to one basis.
The key part of my lessons is feedback, student participation and involvement are crucial to understanding subject material. The structure of my lessons will depend on the subject being taught and the group size. They will however contain the necessary information surrounding a topic, debates within the topic and academic reference material. The lessons will combine a mix of practical work, in-topic discussion, and tools to enable students to contribute their own voice and ideas to established academic debates.
I encourage complex analysis and essay skills to achieve the higher grades but also to bring out the best in every individual student. I structure my lessons to adapt for student needs to suit their learning style once I get to know them.
I am committed to engaging with students and encouraging them to think deeply about the issues surrounding the subject so that they can give their own analysis. I also am committed to developing academic skills, analytical problem solving, essay writing and the ability to construct a coherent argument.
