About Amy
I can recall at a young age putting my stuffed animals in a row and teaching "my class." Today that same love and passion is ever so evident, so much that I took my daughter out of public school to be a homeschool teacher at home. She scores above her level, and I love watching her face when she has the light bulb moments. Why am I different? I do not see teaching as a job but an opportunity to connect and be the difference in that person's life journey. I take pride in my work ethic and strive to be better every day. I respect all and love meeting people from all walks of life. I'm a woman, mother, wife, daughter and sister, so I understand a thing or two about life's ups and downs. I have had several jobs in my life but the jobs I thrive helping others thrive. I am organized, detail-oriented and enjoy aha moments very much. I do not have an accent which I have had many students tell me it makes it easier to comprehend. There is no need to guess or try to figure out what I am saying. I like to start with a basic crash course which includes going over the alphabet, grammar, colors, days of the week, weather and months. I take my time and prefer to take a bit longer on something instead of just moving on and having gaps or holes in the foundation. I then will go over conversational grammar, vocabulary and make it as fun as possible with videos and games. I take my job seriously and will frequently have Q&A at the beginning of each new lesson to ensure the student truly has an understanding of what has been taught in order to set a firm foundation. I truly care and take interest in things that may come up in conversation or things the client may have questions about. Spanish is one of the top languages to learn right now and I take joy in knowing Spanish is my native tongue.
