The reason I want to do this is because I want to both teach and do research. I come from a place where intellectual stimulation and meeting people who care about the things you care about is relatively rare. For me, going to university was a transformative experience and I grew to admire and respect the academics who helped open up this world to me. I would like to play that sort of role in the lives of students
