We got to know Dan when he offered English lessons to Chinese students at Elan in Beijing, China. My daughter had studied English under Dan’s guidance from Grade 4 to Grade 7 with some other kids of the same age, three hours a week. Dan was the most important English teacher for my daughter, and the reason I didn't say ‘one of’ is because that during those 4 years, she made considerably progress in her English. She was in public school from grade 1 to 9 and passed Cambridge test FCE in grade 5, and CAE in grade 6 without any other English lessons. She got full marks in English in the senior high school entrance exam, and now she is in grade 12, applying to universities in the US. She only took TOEFL twice, scoring 108 and 116. Recently she won the first prize in the psychology field in 2024 John Locke essay competition. I have to say that my daughter has benefited from Dan’s English guidance for her English studies all these years.
