About COLLEEN
As an undergraduate student, I spent my entire junior year studying overseas in Spain, which opened up professional opportunities for me post-undergraduate studies. I worked for the United States Congress, as well as the intel community, using my language skills. When I relocated to Northern Michigan, I began teaching at the secondary level. I received my Master's degree in Humanities and Linguistics from Central Michigan University with time spent at the Universidad de Deusto in Bilbao, Spain working on my Spanish pedagogy.

I enjoy working in the intercambio style where we speak back and forth in Spanish which allows for issues or content to come up for more detailed instruction. I teach whole language in order to provide the student with as many skills as possible to maneuver through their class requirements or enhance travel opportunities.
