I prefer to teach/tutor one-on-one because then I can focus on the needs of that individual. I stress grammar for both native and non-native speakers. Often Americans are weak in grammar because it is generally not taught in our schools. Otherwise, I work with the student in whatever area he/she is weakest in. I also teach the strategies and techniques needed be successful on a standardized test.
I have taught ESL, EFL, IELTS, TOEFL and TOEIC, as well as the verbal sections of GMAT, SAT, SSAT and ACT to students from many countries, both in the U.S. and abroad. I lived in Paris, France for 3 years, where I obtained my Master's in French, and in Cairo, Egypt, for over 20 years. I speak French, basic Spanish and some Arabic, mostly Egyptian.
If you need to cancel, you must notify me by the morning of the lesson. Otherwise, you will charged $25 for that class, regardless of the hourly rate.
