About Rylan
I’m an educator and coach who believes that learning should be both meaningful and motivating. With a background in teaching middle school science and working closely with student-athletes, I bring structure, clarity, and energy into every lesson or session I lead. I specialize in breaking down tough concepts in a way that makes sense—whether we’re tackling science, test prep, or building better study habits. My goal is always to meet students where they are and help them build confidence, independence, and curiosity along the way. Outside the classroom, I enjoy coaching, spending time outdoors (especially by the river), and hanging out with my two Brittany Spaniels, Oliver and Finn. My goal as a tutor is to meet students where they are and guide them forward with clarity, patience, and purpose. I believe in creating a supportive environment where questions are welcomed and learning feels both challenging and achievable. I break complex ideas down into manageable pieces, using real-life examples and hands-on strategies to make the content stick.
I share my knowledge by tailoring explanations to each student’s learning style—whether they’re visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learners. I also believe in encouraging critical thinking rather than just giving answers. I ask guiding questions, provide feedback that builds confidence, and offer tools that students can use long after our session ends.
Ultimately, my approach is about building trust, encouraging growth, and celebrating progress—no matter how small.
