About Chung Tat
I have always been a bibliophile myself, ever since primary school where I first picked up a 'Asterix and Obelix' comic book. In both primary school and high school, I have been praised by teachers and students alike for my creative writing. This came to a head in year 12, where in English Literature we students were given 3 sessions to write a story inspired by a book we were reading. I got an A.

The most basic (and important) requirement necessary for a successful academic record is practice: to repeat what you have learned again and again. However, it is different in creative writing, where it is expected for someone to explore themes that may have previously been dissected to challenge how someone perceives the entire story (e.g. twist). Therefore, it is my philosophy to teach by first learning about themes of previous stories (as commonly interpreted), and to further add with historical context for those stories to reinforce the understanding of these themes. Ultimately, a student should be able to hone in on the underlying discussion that most classics engage in, and apply this understanding (not necessarily the theme itself) to their own work.
