About Jim

Learn it. Own it. Never need anyone to show you again.
Hi, I'm Jim. I've taught music to everyone from preschoolers to college students, and here's what I've found: the hard part of guitar usually isn't the information. It's the gap between knowing something and trusting yourself to do it.

About the lesson

I start every lesson relationship by asking two questions: what do you want to learn, and where are you right now? From there we build an individual roadmap together. No rigid curriculum, no one-size-fits-all method. We close that gap one step at a time. You learn something with me, it clicks, and it becomes yours. You can pick up the guitar any time and play it, and that opens up the next thing you couldn't see from where you started. There's always something new to explore just over the horizon. Adults: It's not too late to make the guitar yours. Whether you've always wanted to play or put it down years ago, we start where you are. Parents: Your child wants to play, and you want it to stick. What they learn becomes theirs to keep, and they pick up the guitar on their own because they want to. Teens and young adults: Bring your music. We'll work toward the song you actually want to play. Beginners, returning players, kids and adults, I meet you where you are. My goal is to teach myself out of a job. I teach in person in Lilburn and Newnan, GA, or online anywhere.
