I can easily keep students engaged by using the "chunking" method to break lessons into short 15-minute blocks, followed immediately by micro-activities like timed quizzes or flashcard battles to gamify the routine practice. Instead of asking if they understand, use inverted questioning to have the student explain the concept back to you in their own words, or give them choices in how they demonstrate learning, such as drawing a visual diagram rather than writing a traditional summary. You can instantly spike curiosity by relating abstract topics directly to their personal hobbies, like using video game mechanics or sports stats to teach math percentages. Additionally, try assigning them active personas, such as "The Detective" to find hidden errors in a problem, or introducing a quick two-minute physical brain break halfway through the session to reset their attention spans and discharge restlessness. I make sure my students will not feel bored but engaged at all times.
