These lessons are built around a simple idea: great directing starts with great watching.
We study cinema not as history or trivia, but as a living language. Why a director places the camera where they do. Why a scene breathes or suffocates. Why blocking, framing, rhythm, silence, and restraint matter more than gear, trends, or shortcuts.
Drawing from decades of films, from classical cinema to modern masters, we break down scenes shot by shot and decision by decision. Bergman, Kubrick, Cassavetes, Scorsese, Varda, Tarkovsky, and others are not discussed as untouchable icons, but as working filmmakers making specific, repeatable choices under real constraints.
Each lesson trains your eye. We look at composition, movement, editing, sound, and performance, and connect them directly to your own projects. No theory without application. No rules without context. No algorithms, no trends, no content thinking.
This course is for filmmakers who want taste, judgment, and intention. For those who want to understand why cinema still works when everything else feels disposable. The goal is not to copy the masters, but to absorb their thinking so you can make stronger, clearer, more personal films.
