About Zola
Playing guitar actually requires less raw talent and more simple, consistent repetition than most people realize. My path to this instrument began with a curiosity about how basic chords could evoke such deep emotion in a room.
After earning a Bachelor of Music at the University of Canterbury, I spent 6 years teaching others how to bridge the gap between theory and actual performance. I find that focusing on the mechanics of fingerpicking and barre chords provides a solid foundation for any style.
My approach remains grounded in the reality that music is meant to be enjoyed rather than stressed over. I maintain a relaxed environment because I know that tension is the enemy of good playing. This is why I value the process of slow, deliberate practice over rushing toward a final result.
