About Bethel

Rhythm guitar and fingerpicking form the foundation of my technical practice. I remember sitting in a studio once where the guitarist could not find the right tuning for a session, and that moment defined my focus on gear maintenance.

I have taught 94 students over 12 years. I work with adult learners who want to progress through a MONTHLY RECORDED REVIEW of their technical skills.

My BFA in Music Technology from NYU Steinhardt gives me a unique way to explain electric technique. I help students handle lead guitar and ear training without the fluff.

My style is direct and honest. I want you to read tabs and understand the mechanics behind your sound. I treat guitar as a craft to be sharpened.

I provide feedback that is specific to your playing style. We look at grade exam prep when it fits your needs. Everything is focused on steady movement. I keep things practical.

About the lesson

I rarely use a metronome for the first 5 minutes because I prefer to hear how you naturally approach the instrument. Sessions involve a mix of ear training and physical technique to ensure your hands and ears stay connected. We use a 6.0 scale for tracking your development across rhythm and lead sections. My lessons move at a pace that keeps you challenged without overwhelming your process.

I demonstrate specific fingerpicking patterns to resolve issues with your current electric technique. We check your tuning and maintenance habits to keep your gear stage ready at all times.

I prioritize clear communication to ensure you understand why we are working on a specific exercise. You get a monthly recorded review to see exactly how your playing has evolved since we started. This keeps the momentum going.
