About Reynard
Hailing from Indonesia, Reynard Sitepu discovered the world of classical music at the age of 3. He exposed himself to jazz and swing music through his father, who was the town’s jazz musician.
Performed in classical concerts and competitions, including the Steinway Youth Piano Competition ( May / 2020 ), the Award for Good Performance in “Yayasan Pendidikan Musik” (YPM), and the acknowledgment prize for Good Polyphonic Style in playing “Johann Sebastian Bach: Sinfonia No. 11.” Aside from that, winning numerous national band competitions whilst being a multi-instrumentalist, producer, mixer, and arranger.
He got the opportunity to record and play with senior jazz musicians during his time in Indonesia, which opened the young Reynard Sitepu’s playing to a different level.
He now studies with living legends like Reggie Workman, Dave Glasser, and Brian Marsella in The New School.

My teaching methods are flexible depending on the individual needs and objectives of the student. Suitable for beginner/intermediate, whether it's learning how to play a song, music theory, improvisation, composition, or efficient practices for the long run.
Have been intensively working with some of the best musicians in NYC over the last semester in The School of Jazz and is looking forward to sharing this in the lessons as well.
