I can teach/coach elementary - adult students.
I pull from the acting theories and techniques of Stanislavski, Miesner, Adler and Strasburg.
Classes usually start with monologue work and acting techniques. I can provide monologues and scenes as needed, or work with an existing script or play.
I am a Theatre Teacher who has experience teaching in a one-to-one environment as well as in small and large group settings. I have a Degree in Theatre from Loyola University Chicago and have been performing since the age of 10. Not only do I teach acting theories and techniques but I have written curriculum for Improvisational Theatre, Theatre History and Musical Theatre. I am also a choreographer and director of a Performing Arts Camp. If you need help preparing for an audition, support for your Theatre classes or anything in between, I can help you reach your goals.
B.A Theatre - Loyola University Chicago
For the past year I have been teaching and developing Theatre programs, at Summit Public Schools in Seattle, WA and Yellow Wood Academy in Mercer Island, WA. My curriculum has been written and executed in a large classroom setting as well as in a one to one education setting, with focus on individualized learning paths for students with special education needs. Previously I built a Theatre program from the ground up in an urban title 1 charter school in downtown Dallas. I have taught grades 6-12 serving mostly at-risk and underprivileged students. My work has included writing curriculum, executing lesson plans, and working with Teacher Leadership to accomplish the strategic priorities of becoming an International Baccalaureate School, tracking scholar data through exit tickets, and creating a consistent, safe and engaging learning environment for students. I have worked to build and manage strategic community partnerships with local mainstay venues and arts organizations. To keep these programs going I have produced and coordinated three fine and performing arts showcases, a volunteer program and created a donor base. Last summer I was the director for the Performing Arts Camp at the Stroum Jewish Community Center in Mercer Island, WA, working with mostly elementary school children. I planned all activities and rehearsals while directing and producing 2 musical showcases within a 9 week time frame. In my spare time I am the Lead Choreographer for Bellevue Youth Theatre. I am passionate about teaching Theatre and Acting and committed to helping students achieve their highest potential inside and outside the classroom.
