About Rob
I’m a retired teacher with over 30 years of classroom experience in math and science, now focusing on helping students succeed through one-on-one tutoring. One of my greatest joys as a teacher was helping young people unlock their potential, gain confidence, and realize that they’re capable of more than they thought. What I bring to my lessons is not just deep subject knowledge (including a Bachelor of Science degree back in the 20th century) but also the ability to explain complex ideas in a clear and patient way. Over the years, I’ve worked with students of all learning styles and abilities, and I’m ADHD-informed, which means I can adapt my teaching to fit the needs of neurodivergent learners. Students and parents who work with me can expect professionalism, consistency, and encouragement. I believe learning works best when students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow at their own pace. My goal is to make every student feel supported while building the skills and confidence they need for success in school and beyond.

My focus is supporting your understanding and academic success! We’ll work together to identify your strengths as a learner and uncover any gaps in your knowledge, so you build real confidence in math and science.
In a typical lesson, I’ll explain concepts you are learning in your classes using clear, simple language, then guide you through practice problems step by step. I encourage questions at every stage - there are no “bad” questions in my classroom. I also check in regularly to make sure you feel comfortable before moving forward.
What sets me apart is over 30 years of classroom teaching experience combined with a patient, student-centered approach. I am ADHD-informed, which means I can adapt lessons to suit different learning styles, attention spans, and organizational needs. Whether you learn best through visuals, worked examples, or discussion, I will adjust to fit you.
My lessons are ideal for middle years and high school students looking for support in mathematics, algebra, biology, chemistry, and physics. I also specialize in supporting students with ADHD and other learning differences, helping them build study strategies alongside subject knowledge.
Together, we’ll not just aim for better grades - we’ll build skills and confidence you can carry forward.
