About Sarah

I am another individual who is trying to make it in life. I have a huge passion for psychology, and luckily I got the chance to study and work in the psychology field for 8 years.

I discovered my enthusiasm for teaching during my undergraduate degree when I had to teach basic maths and English to refugee children. I can never forget that blissful feeling of passing on knowledge to help others in their life.

I am humbly grateful for the education and experiences I have been exposed to. I have a sense of urgency to want to give back to communities. I believe that I am very professional, and I value respect, individuality, commitment, honesty, and hard work.

I have taught children in refugees camps basic English and Maths. I also was given the opportunity to tutor undergraduate students with different psychology subjects to help them with their end-of-year exams, mainly in psychological statistics, psychometric applications, clinical psychology, and psychometric methods.

I also had the liberty to work at a primary school where I was an assistant teacher to special needs children. This really was a beautiful insightful challenge that helped me refine my teaching skills.

Previous students pointed out that I have the skill of breaking down complex topics and make them easier to grasp. I also believe that I have a good amount of patience and understanding that anyone is able to learn anything if they put in the hard work and apply the right mindset/attitude to it.

I believe that my collective experiences have given me the qualities to help teach and tutor psychological studies. It is always gratifying to pass on beneficial knowledge for others to benefit from and use.

About the lesson

Different students need different approaches. In my teaching experience, I break down each chapter into segments and integrate as many practice questions as possible. This has proven to help students grasp the topic at hand more effectively.

I first would ask the student what goals they are trying to achieve as well as what their strengths and weaknesses are. Going from there, I would come up with a study plan that caters to their needs in order to achieve their desired goals. I also believe that it is important for me as a tutor to express my limitations to the student in order to provide them with a service worth their time and money.

A typical length of a lesson would be 60 minutes. After the first 30 minutes, the student is given a 5-minute breather before going back to the study materials.

I always encourage students to ask questions and ask for help and clarification whenever they feel like they need it. I believe taking it slow and steady is never an issue, so long as the student takes their time to fully grasp the content.
