About Sylvia

Hi there! I was born and raised in China and moved to the US at 18. I graduated from Emory University and Columbia University, and now I work in finance on Wall Street.

I’m an outgoing person who loves connecting with people from diverse backgrounds. I enjoy making friends with colleagues from different countries and sharing my understanding of Asian culture. In today’s global decoupling environment, I believe these interactions are more valuable than ever.

Teaching has always been a passion of mine. I’ve trained over 200 students in finance over the past 8 years. The feedback from my students has been excellent, and I’ve had the pleasure of becoming friends with many of them.

I’m excited about the opportunity to share my knowledge and experience with you, and I’m here to make your language learning journey enjoyable and enriching!

About the lesson

Whether you’re looking to improve your conversational skills, understand more about Chinese culture, or just practice speaking in a relaxed environment, I’m here to make learning Chinese fun and effective!

Personalized Learning: I’ll tailor our lessons to match your specific interests and goals, whether you want to improve your conversational skills, get familiar with everyday vocabulary, or dive into Chinese culture.

Interactive Practice: We’ll focus on practical language use through engaging conversations. I believe the best way to learn a language is by using it, so we’ll have plenty of opportunities for you to practice speaking and listening in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Cultural Insights: Learning a language isn’t just about words and grammar—it’s also about understanding the culture. I’ll share interesting cultural tidbits and context to make your learning experience richer and more enjoyable.

Feedback and Progress: I’ll provide regular feedback to help you track your progress and address any areas where you might need extra help.

Let's make learning Chinese an enjoyable and rewarding experience together!
